The Italian made Pro 17, distributed in Australia by Inlon, features 1500 milimetreraking wheels angledto about 70 degrees designed to deliver a better lifting motion compared to the rolling and roping that can come from smaller wheels, according to Inlon’s Shane Ryan.

“The uneven number of wheels on each side aredesignedto prevent clumping and the need for a centre kicker wheel,” Mr Ryan said.

“The short side pulls the crop into the windrow and then the long side rolls the crop back to mix and complete the windrow.”

He said the Pro 17 was suitable for all crops and left a uniform square windrow.

“It delivers a clean pick up with very little dust and with wheel covers protecting the crop from the wind and lowering the crop friction, you’ll get a clean finish.”

All adjustments are done on the move using the electro hydraulic control panel takes care of all adjustments and the unit is fitted with replaceable rubber tines for gentle handling of the crop.

“This is a really solid machine,” Mr Ryan said.

“The raking wheels are supported by an overhead frame, rocker axles with large tyres for tight turning areas and smoother raking; that’s a real improvement on V rakes that only have outside support wheels.”

The v-rake will find its feet in lucerne and cereal crops as it offers better performance than rotary style rakes in these mainstay applications, Mr Ryan said.
